Deep in the heart of Willow Creek Forest, excitement was buzzing through the trees. The sunny morning air smelled like pine and freshly cut grass, but what truly energized the woodland creatures was the huge sports season taking place.
Every single animal, from the tiny hedgehogs to the towering moose, had gathered around the ancient town oak tree. Why? Because the biggest tournament in the world—the FIFA World Cup 2026—was finally here!
Chapter 1: Checking the World Cup Schedule
Benny the Bunny was the official tournament recorder for the forest. Every morning before breakfast, Benny would hop over to the community bulletin board with his oversized notepad and bright red marker.
"Let’s see what we have on the world cup schedule for today!" Benny cheered, twitching his pink nose as he unrolled a giant paper chart.
Sammy the Squirrel came scrambling down a nearby pine branch, carrying an acorn half-eaten like a snack. "Benny! Are there any live world cup games today? I’ve been practicing my tail-header all week!"
"You bet there are!" replied Benny. "The FIFA tournament is at its most intense stage yet. Every single nation is competing, and today's world cup games are going to determine who makes it to the quarter-finals."
Benny carefully pinned a massive poster to the oak tree. It was the official world cup bracket.
"Look here," Benny explained, pointing his crayon at the lines connecting the teams. "If Team Bear wins their match today, they move up the left side of the world cup bracket. But if Team Eagle wins, the whole board changes! That’s why following the official FIFA World Cup matches is so thrilling—anything can happen!"
Chapter 2: A Basketball Showdown – Knicks vs Spurs
While the soccer fans gathered around the tree to talk about the FIFA World Cup 2026, a loud squeak-squeak of sneakers echoed from the nearby outdoor court.
"Sounds like the basketball finals are starting too!" squeaked Sammy, darting toward the court.

Barnaby the Bear was wearing a blue and orange jersey, representing the Knicks. Opposite him stood Timmy the Turtle, wearing a sharp silver and black jersey for the Spurs. Barnaby bounced the ball low to the ground. Dribble, dribble, crossover! Timmy slid his feet carefully, blocking the lane. The crowd cheered as Barnaby went for a jump shot, but Timmy leaped—using his shell for leverage—and tipped the ball into the hands of his teammate!
Chapter 3: An Important Health Lesson from Dr. Owl
Just as the basketball game reached a tie score, Dr. Owl blew his referee whistle with a loud FWEEEEEET!
The game paused. All the animals, including the soccer fans who were busy discussing the global FIFA tournament, turned to look at the wise old doctor. He flapped his wings and landed gracefully on top of a wooden picnic table.

The forest animals tilted their heads. "What do you mean, Dr. Owl?" asked Benny the Bunny.
Dr. Owl held up a poster showing a picture of clean water and soap. "When we play near dry leaves, woodpiles, or old sheds, we need to be careful about hidden germs. One very serious virus found in wild rodent droppings is called Hantavirus. It can make animals and humans quite sick if they breathe in dust near dusty, uncleaned areas."
A quiet hush fell over the crowd.
"Don't worry!" Dr. Owl reassured them with a warm smile. "Staying safe from Hantavirus and other outdoor germs is simple if you follow these rules:"
Wash your hands: Always scrub with soap and clean water after playing outdoors or handling outdoor gear.
Avoid dusty old structures: Never play in abandoned sheds, woodpiles, or unventilated spaces where mice might nest.
Keep food sealed: Store your snacks in tight containers so wild critters don't contaminate your picnic area.
"Clean hands keep the games going!" shouted Sammy the Squirrel, holding up his paws.
"Exactly!" smiled Dr. Owl. "Now, let’s all take a quick hand-washing break at the park fountain before we return to our games!"
Chapter 4: The Grand Celebration
All the animals trooped over to the forest fountain, singing songs and lathering up with soap. With squeaky-clean hands and high spirits, they returned to the central park meadow.
